CAUSES
Here is a list of over 50 causes that need our attention. If you don’t already have a cause that you’re involved in you can use this list to find one that speaks to you and get into action.
Here are my top ten most pressing issues at the present (in no particular order) Remember my rule: trying to focus on more than one cause, or two at the most, at a time is self-defeating. Pick your one or two. If something happens that changes your focus, that’s fine.
- Black Lives Matter
- Climate Crisis
- Bail as a Social Justice Issue
- Dismantling Systemic Racism
- Voting Rights and Accessibility
- LGBTQIA+ Rights
- Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women
- Immigration Reform
- Refugee Crisis
- Redirecting $ from Police to Community Programs
Here’s a list of other things that I am concerned about but that aren’t top of mind. Shifting attention from one cause to another is totally natural. Things happen in the world, George Floyd, children in cages on the southern U.S. border, and they pull our attention.
A lot of these issues intersect, pay attention to the intersections. They will help you find a larger support community.
