Each week's Activist Micro Action is something that should be able to be done in 10 minutes or less. Some actions are just the beginning of other actions that will require more time, but we have to start somewhere. We're working on building the habit of taking action.

Here's This Week's Activist Micro Action

Hello,

This week I'm asking that you do something a bit different. Join me in a challenge that I have set myself. 

I'm going to write 175 postcards to swing state voters over the next 14 weeks.

I've got a system set up, do a bunch of addresses first, then write the cards in a batch. This works for me but you can do it however you'd like. Each postcard takes me about 2 minutes. 

Around 6 hours total over the summer.

Data proves this kind of activism makes a difference in turnout levels.

With this election on track to be another squeaker we have to do all we can.

I was excited to have the pictured beauties show up in my mailbox! Let the writing begin!

To join me in this challenge here's all you need to do:

  • Sign up to write postcards to targeted swing state voters

  • Write the postcards sent to you. 

  • Send them on the instructed date(s) in October.

I think you should do this because...

  • The obvious, we want people to vote.

  • If you do this and let me know that you did, (honor system), in October I will randomly pick 5 people and send them a signed copy of my book as a thank you (it makes an excellent gift if you already have it).

  • Knowing that we are actively doing something helps us when the world is in chaos and despair is knocking.

NOTE:

They supply the postcards, simple scripts to use, and addresses, you cover the postage. The postage is $92.75 total. Pricey, I know. if that's an obstacle maybe doing this with some friends and sharing the cost would be an option.
